Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about watching the Running of the Bulls and San Fermín from a private balcony in Pamplona.
Including safety, access, booking conditions, and local guidelines.
Ethical Hosting, Local Respect, and Responsible Tourism
Why book with BasqueViews instead of a marketplace?
BasqueViews is intentionally small and highly curated. We select a limited set of private balconies based on visibility, comfort, safety, and hosting standards — not volume.
Guests receive clear logistics, discreet support, and a seamless experience built for San Fermín’s unique timing and intensity. If you’re looking for a premium, trustworthy way to witness the encierro from a private balcony in Pamplona, our role is simple: curate what’s right, and execute it properly.
How does your model support local families and the culture of Pamplona?
BasqueViews is built in Pamplona, by people from Pamplona — working directly with local families who live this tradition from within. We are not a foreign marketplace extracting value from the festival.
Your booking supports ethical circular tourism: the money stays in Pamplona, strengthening households, preserving a living tradition, and protecting the city’s character through controlled capacity and respectful hosting. Premium execution, local roots, and real community impact — aligned.
What should guests know about the home guidelines?
Our balconies are private homes within a living community. We operate under an ethical tourism model designed to protect both the tradition of San Fermín and the people of Pamplona.
Guests are expected to arrive on time, follow host guidance, and move calmly before and during the encierro. Respect for the home, the building, and the surrounding neighbors is essential. For safety, guests must avoid unsafe leaning and follow all balcony-specific instructions shared upon arrival.
Experiencing the Running of the Bulls from within the community means participating with awareness, discretion, and consideration. Our approach prioritizes responsible hosting, controlled capacity, and respect for the city that makes this tradition possible.
Balcony Viewing (Safety, Locations, Comfort)
Why watch the Running of the Bulls from a private balcony?
Watching the Running of the Bulls from a private balcony is considered one of the most special ways to experience San Fermín — even for locals in Pamplona. Balcony spaces along the route are extremely limited, and many residents themselves rarely have the opportunity to witness the encierro from above.
From a balcony, the run unfolds directly beneath you: the tension, the speed, and the energy of the street just meters away.
It is also the safest and most traditional way to watch the event, as the encierro has always been observed from balconies along the route.
Where are your balconies located along the route?
Our curated balconies are located along key sections of the official bull run route in Pamplona’s old town, including streets such as Ayuntamiento, Estafeta and Mercaderes. Each balcony listing highlights its viewing advantages.
Are your balconies private, and how many people share the space?
Yes. Our spaces are private and hosted in local homes. Capacity is limited and always stated clearly before booking to preserve comfort and a premium experience.
Do any balconies have elevator access?
Some buildings include elevator access, while others require stairs due to the historic architecture of Pamplona’s old town. Elevator availability is indicated in each balcony’s details.
Are children allowed?
Guests are welcome from 14 years old and above. For safety and environment, guests under 14 are not permitted during the encierro balcony experience.
Are pets allowed?
No. Pets are not allowed inside the balconies.
What time should we arrive?
Guests typically arrive between 6:45 and 7:00 AM to ensure calm, organized access before the 8:00 AM start. Exact entry instructions are provided after booking.
What’s Included (Breakfast, Services, Add-ons)
Is breakfast included? What does it include?
Breakfast may be included depending on the balcony, and each listing states this clearly. When provided, it typically includes coffee, beverages, and traditional Pamplona breakfast items served in a discreet way that fits the morning schedule.
Can I add premium services like champagne or private driver?
Yes. Selected premium add-ons may be available depending on date and capacity, including champagne service, private driver coordination, and curated local support.
Booking, Payments, Discounts, Policies
When should I book a San Fermín balcony?
As early as possible. Prime dates and locations often sell out months in advance, especially during San Fermín.
How do I book?
Choose your balcony, select your date (when required), and complete checkout. After booking, you receive arrival instructions and the specific house guidelines for your balcony.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept secure online payments via major credit cards and verified payment systems available at checkout.
Do you offer discount codes?
Yes, when available. Discount codes can be applied at checkout. Unless stated otherwise, one code per booking may be used.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
San Fermín balcony dates are extremely limited and consistently high-demand. For this reason, all balcony bookings are final and non-refundable once confirmed.
This policy allows us to protect availability for local families hosting the experience and to operate with the level of planning, staffing, and coordination required during San Fermín. We recommend confirming your travel plans before completing your reservation.
